Optimus IV 17inch, Headphone jack problem and ODD noise

Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone could help me about replacing the earphone jack, over the last couple of weeks its been slowly fading/dying out for some reason. I have tried testing out on multiple of headsets and earphones and they all seem to have the same problem, the reason why i dont want to send it back now is because i know during this time of year, things get a little bit too busy for pcs and i really dont want to wait for a month before it gets fixed as i have some important work to do, so i am just wondering if anyone know any self repair tips for this kind of thing?

Also everytime i burn a CD, theres an abnormally loud buzzing and very disturbing noise that comes out of it, it literally sounds like the laptop is eating the cd..anyone know the cause of this?

self repair on that will almost certainly invalidate your warrenty, and to be honest it would not be an easy or advisable solo job.
maybe wait until after christmas before you rma it or at least speak to pcs and see what they say.

i would be very reluctant to do as you suggest with mine.
