Optimus IV Cleaning suggestions?

Hi everyone, just wondered if I could get some input since I've never really cleaned a laptops' fans before.

I've had it for about 21 months now, and it overheats quite fast now, which I've almost certainly deduced as being the result of a dust filled fan.

However I see a lot of conflicting opinions on how laptop fans should be cleaned. Some people say air compressors contain moisture/lubricant that will increase dust trapping in the computer, and others say Vacuum cleaners can build a static discharge and create damage.

So if not these two options, what else can I use? Or are these options actually ok to consider? Thanks.

Can of compressed air and a paintbrush is the best bet.

use the compressed air to blow off whatever is loose. Then use the (natural fibre) paintbrush to knock off anything that stuck on.

It could be that it attracts dust slightly quicker after cleaning because impurities in the compressed air, but much better that than an overheating system.

Thanks for your advice.

Now to find a screwdriver small enough to deal with the miniature nails on this laptop...

I agree with mantadog 100%. This is what I do to clean mine.
