Optimus IV Keyboard Fault

Hi, This just happened recently with my Optimus IV laptop. The laptop was purchased in November 2013.

2 days ago i was using the laptop fine, I closed the screen down when I was finished. Around 20 minutes later, I turned the laptop back on but there seems to be an issue with the keyboard.

Some keys on the keyboard do not work. Ie, the backspace button, certain letters etc. but not all of the keys are not working.

I have tried some fixes that I got through google search like taking the battery out and holding the power button for 60 seconds, but this hasn't worked either.

I also tried booting the laptop in safe mode, but the issue still persisted.

This all happened suddenly which I pretty strange (around a 20 minute window..)

Could the keyboard be faulty and will I need a replacement?

Sounds unusual for a keyboard just to stop working, there was no spillage or drop in the 20 minute window?

I would contact PCS and get their advice. If a replacement keyboard is warranted, they'll just post you one and you can fit it yourself, it's very easy, rather than having to send back the whole unit.

There was no spillage, I literally lifted the laptop from my bed to my desk. Maybe a slight knock with setting it down but not more than any usual...

Thanks for your help

If you do contact them, I'd recommend by phone rather than webchat or email as both those can take a while for a response (2 days or so by email).
