Optimus IV Windows 10 Upgrade UEFI Bios

Hi there,

I apologise this may be a long post.

So i have been trying to upgrade to windows 10 for a while now and have found that my most common issue is that during system updates windows 10 deletes the data partition on my ssd. It couldn't find the partition during the win7-10 upgrade and also when i had win 10 and got a system update i got the missing operating system thing.
I have been checking around and have realised that i have my ssd in MBR mode and not UEFI and have read that since MBR doesn't give partitions unique identifiers when windows 10 upgrades it can't remember where my data partition is therefore making it useless.

So my question is if I was to enable UEFI in the bios and run a clean install of windows 10 would my ssd be reformatted into UEFI/GPT by the windows installer?
