Hey guys,
I've changed my mind. Going to call PCS tomorrow to cancel the Ultranote II and get the 13.3" Optimus V instead. This will be the only laptop I will have in the house that I plan on keeping for 4+ years so I'd rather futureproof it just in case and also more portable for future Uni use.
Going for i7 4710 + GTX 860M 2GB DDR5 + 4gb hyperx + standard 500GB HDD. It's 2.0kg and battery is about 5-6hours based on reviews and 8 hours based on Clevo's website W230SSNot too bad. I also like that it has a backlit keyboard.
Only question now is whether I pick the
1080 Full HD MATTE IPS Screen OR
QHD+ IPS LED 3200x1800 IPS Screen but it's GLOSSY. This screen is only £6 extra (special offer). Which one is better? Apparently 1080P screen will also offer better battery life?
Total about £659. Is this a good price nowadays for the spec? The initial Ultranote II price was £450; so opting for Optimus V is an extra £209 in cost (but this has i7 (instead of i5) and GTX 860M and QHD+ screen). I've already bought a separate 250gb evo and will buy another 4gb HyperX RAM during black Friday soon. I will be applying MX-4 myself as PCS does not apply them to the GPU chips.
Thank you for your input.
