Optimus V add msata drive

I have an Optimus V 15.6", W355SSQ, with KINGSTON 120GB SSD and Toshiba 1GB HDD in the two standard 2.5" HDD slots. Very pleased with it so far.

I am thinking of adding extra SSD. Choices are (1) to add an mSata drive, or (2) to replace the Kingston with a larger SSD. In either case, the new SSD would probably be a 500GB Samsung 850 EVO.

The extra mSata drive would be more awkward to fit but still seems fairly straightforward. I would probably change the N-135 wireless card at the same time while I had the keyboard off.

Changing the 2.5" SSD would be more straightforward hardware-wise, but would involve the fiddle of cloning the operating system (8.1). I might want to move the OS even if I went for the mSata as the Samsung should be a little faster.

It appears that the 2.5" SSD would be around £20 cheaper, but I would end up with 120GB less total space.

Does anybody have any options; or warnings about any extra difficulties I might encounter that I have not anticipated?

Thanks, Stephen

The Optimus V in terms of adding an mSATA is pretty straightforward - the only problem that would arise is the possibility of breaking the bezel (The bezel that is needed to be removed to remove the keyboard) - the bezel itself is quite resilient, however I would take extra precaution whilst doing so.

Here's a reference image for you:

As you mentioned, the easier choice would be to change the SSD. :)
