Optimus V battery life on sleep?

Battery was fully charged, put laptop to sleep, came back in morning, no power.

I was hoping that sleep would be minimal drain.

How long should it last?

Also, anyone else find the Optimus V case edges really sharp? Like a razor.

Especially the front edge. Just a little chamfer, or rounding would do wonders.

Thanks?

That is a bit odd, the first thing that jumps to mind is that on my laptop it switches on at about 3am to do maintenance but if its not on the mains supply it will be flat by morning. Could be something to do with that. Otherwise in hibernation mode my laptop will manage a couple of days at least.

Sleep still leaves some active components, if you use hibernate instead it will conserve power a lot better.

Hope this helps

You might find this http://lifehacker.com/5526542/how-much-battery-life-does-sleep-mode-really-drain interesting. Personally I see sleep mode as useful for an hour or two, anything longer than that and I'd hibernate or shutdown. Your problem does sound to be extreme, I'd have expected a new laptop battery to maintain sleep overnight easily, but IMHO that's not what it's for.

:)

Later Edit: In Power Options check that the wake timers (under Sleep) are disabled on battery.
