Optimus V motherboard name and GTX860m provider

Hello, I have a few questions regarding the 13.3" Optimus V which I recently ordered. If anyone is able to answer any of them I would be very grateful.

What motherboard does the Optimus V 13.3" come with, and where would I be able to update its bios? Also, what vendor (ASUS, MSI, GIGABYTE) supplies the 860m (assuming Maxwell variant based on the given specifications) and if known what memory chips (Hynix, Samsung, Elpida) are used for the dedicated VRAM?

Thanks in advance for any and all replies given! :)

They don't know. They really don't know.

Here's the exact same questions I asked: https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?36950-Why-no-manufacturer

And the response from PCS was:

----
Are you wanting the exact part numbers? I don't have these sadly, but the motherboard is unique to the chassis type and is part of the Clevo W230SS series, the GPU is built into the mainboard and would share the same model number, but I can get detailed info if required the GPU.

If we can assist you any further, please do not hesitate to contact us.

I told them that no, I don't need part numbers, but the actual model or at least the vendor so they pointed me to some PDFs which can also be found on the Clevo website.

This was for my Optimus 13.3"

Thanks for the reply, +rep :)

It is interesting that they wouldn't be able to tell you, thank you very much for the motherboard info!

I asked about that so I could get an idea as to whether I might find a modded bios allowing for higher clockspeeds, power limit and voltages for the 860m, as apparently those things can really overclock if you get lucky with the silicon and memory... which leads me to the question of memory provider, Hynix and Samsung seem to always clock better than Elpida chips, ASUS 860m's reportedly coming with Hynix VRAM.

By the way, I am fairly certain that the manufacturer of the card is actually irrelevant when it comes to laptop cards and MSI Afterburner's functionality. The amount you can offset your clockspeed and core voltage is determined by the GPU's (in this case the motherboard's) bios and also its voltage controller, and additional control over memory and auxiliary voltages only comes with the Lightning or Hawk series of MSI desktop cards. The only things that might vary between manufacturers are the memory chips and the voltage controller used, although I really don't know if voltage controllers vary on laptop graphics cards, my guess would be no :p

This is just what I have come to understand from my own experience (a 630m, an MSI GTX760 Gaming, 770 lightning, 780 lightning (upgrading is a terrible habit)), I might be wrong, and if anyone can tell me otherwise I would be very happy to add to my own knowledge, and sorry if you already knew all this stuff! :p

Then this is what you want: http://www.clevo.com.tw/en/e-services/download/ftp_download.asp?sno=4940&no=3

That's the User Manual directly from Clevo.

Additionally, you really ought to take a look at the Engineer's Service Manual, here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/irn23957t9dq944/W230SS_ESM.pdf?dl=0 (given to me by PCS, today, this is a direct link, not my Dropbox)

What I can tell you is that I suspect the motherboard is actually made by Clevo, and the nVIDIA vendor is actually still Clevo (a.k.a Kapok) - check out the service manual.
