Optimus V touchpad

Just a quick question about the touchpad on the optimus V

On other laptops I have used there is an obvious section in the mouse options to do things like disable the click on tap functionality. I dont seem to have the option though. In m device manager I have 2 mouse devices. My gaming one I have plugged in via USB and then a PS/2 one (which seems a bit odd to me but maybe thats just the port it uses internally).

I assume the touchpad is the PS/2 connected one but I see no options anywhere that are touchpad centric. This is confusing because there must be somewhere to edit the options because otherwise why would tap to click even work?

Any help would be great (even if this is just a minor inconvenience when typing and my arm or finger skims it moving the curser *shakey fist*).

It sounds like you don't have the specific touchpad driver installed and you're using the basic Windows driver. That will run the standard touchpad features but not the more advanced ones. If you don't have the driver on a disk from PCS visit the Clevo download site at http://clevo.com/en/e-services/download.asp and download the appropriate touchpad driver from there. You will need to know the Clevo model number of your laptop, it's on a label on the bottom.

Awesome thanks. I thought it would be something like that, just didn't know where to look. will check this out and get it updated.

you can just press fn and f1 to disable the touchpad when the machine boots too if you don't use it, that's what I do, it means you don't have to install the Synaptics driver software, which is good software, and gives you a lot of options in terms of gestures you can make on the touchpad, but it is also quite bloaty with a lot of video clips in it too.
