Optimus V vs Skyfire III for work (same price, same spec - but which one?)

I travel a lot, work in IT security, will use the laptop on assignments. I'll be running Linux and usually have a VM or two on the go.

So, I was interested in the Inferno and have been waiting to see if it would come back, it didn't so I'm looking at the next best options. Really it boils down to these two laptops that configured are pretty much the same price and have very very similar specs. I'm a little concerned about the quality of the Optimus V but it would be good to hear from SkyFire III owners on how durable the laptop is because I could be swayed for the slightly fatter Skyfire III because a noisy fan would annoy folks in offices where I work.

I spec'd both with only i5 because I need battery time whilst on the hoof.

So, all I think it boils down to would be:

SkyFire III
+ has a dvd player
+ has a better webcam (so what?)

Optimus V
+ is a fraction smaller
+ has a backlit keyboard
+ has a better memory card reader (so what?)
+ slightly better graphics card (not that important to me)

Already ruled out the new Dell XPS13 developer edition because it doesn't have a lan port (essential for security folks)
Also ruled out the UltraNote II because the screen isn't very pixel dense. If it had a better screen I probably would have gone for it.
