I deleted my original response, due to me being an idiot [rollinglaugh]
When I ordered this laptop, I went into my account and downloaded all the drivers that were linked to for this order, and used those drivers after I reset my laptop to factory defaults.
The problem is that the Airplane button driver in the linked drivers is version 1.2.0.0 which supports up to Windows 8. When I looked on the Drivers DVD that came with the laptop (I am now SOOOO glad I kept it), I found a driver that was version 1.3.0.0, and (after uninstalling the version 1.2.0.0 driver and rebooting) I installed this newer version and rebooted the laptop and now the Airplane button works again :yes:
