OS Install?

Hey guys.

I've read a couple of posts about this and thought I'd just ask to clear it all up?

I've already got a copy with key of Win 7 Ultimate 64bit. I'd also like to have Duel boot, with Ubuntu :)

1) Could PCS install Ubuntu onto the SSD for me at build?
2) Would it be easy (i.e. via boot screen) to then install Windows onto the SSD do it duel boots

If anything happened, is it also easy to install straight onto the SSD? I assume it picks up the SSD in the bios/boot option so as to re-install if need be?

Cheers
Matt

As usual i am mistaken

Only in thinking that you were wrong :) That's quite an old article and it's widely reported that Windows 7 does not play nicely with Linux.

The last I read on the forum PCS do not install Linux. There are so many flavours of Linux that it's best left to the individual.

This is true, there are. However, I would state that I want Ubuntu 10.10 :)

And yes, I've duel booted my old lappy, and Ubuntu first, windows second. Windows isn;t a foreign OS duel boot supporter, so you were right Nem :)

Gorman, is it easy to install onto an SSD? I assume it just pops up when it asks you where you want to install (Drive Wise?)?

Hi,

I would install Windows first, and then install Linux after that. Linux is better at creating the boot menu than Windows will be.

When my new machine arrives this week, I'll be doing exactly that - Windows 7 first, then install Linux Mint afterwards.

The majority of my work I use Linux - only use Windows for video editing really.
