overclocked power consumption

Firstly, let me say the configuration pages of the website are, in general, excellent. They allow you to play "what if" games with possible configurations - are the components compatible, have I enough space/power/cooling etc. That is really helpful. However, when it comes to overclocked PCs I think there is a flaw. Put the same PC configuration in as a standard desktop - and, separately, as an overclocked pc and you get the same power consumption. Clearly that can't be correct, an overclocked PC may take more - may be tens of watts more. Not an issue if your PSU has lots of headroom, but certainly the case if you are getting close to the limit.

All that said - brilliant website!

I've not checked the configurator and perhaps you are correct but I think there is an allowance on there for power consumption so unless you are getting a fairly 'low end' system (which requires a fairly low end PSU) the allowance will probably cover any increased power draw from the CPU - however nicely pointed out :) I certainly had not noticed that before.

This is something I just noticed also Since with the build I was thinking of going with I would need a 1050w and it says the maximum required Power would be 1040W but I have no idea how much more watts would an overclocked CPU add, so I would love to see them add this to the site or give us some info on it.
