Hey guys, just ordered my Vortex III about a week back, out of curiosity I wanted to see how much of a difference there was between my *sigh* yes Dell... Studio 17 and my Vortex when it finally arrives!

Here's the benchmark results for the *sigh* Dell http://3dmark.com/3dm11/3350260 P1021 HA!

Expecting my Vortex here at the end of the month, will post it's score then. I the meantime please feel free to laugh at the Dell :p

Comparing their gaming performance would be akin to comparing N64 and gameboy versions of the same game title (yes im old -_-)

Sounds like a plan clancy2k, I'm waiting on the 7970M so will be stuck in pre production until then :( Will post the results back in this thread so feel free to post yours here too when you get it. What stage are you at now?

haha! drandro474, don't worry, I still remember the Sega Master System..... and BBC comuters (you know, the ones with floppy discs the size of a plate!) Aye, I know the V III will destroy the meager piece of equipment I have now, was just curious what the margin was :p

My Vortex III is in the 13th day of production. It's been in "in-testing" for 5 days wich is a bit concerning... If they have ran into trouble with it, I just hope they get it sorted before shipping it out to me.

I'm getting the GTX 675M.. I couldn't be bothered waiting for the 7970m so your benchmark will be better i presume. Although i'll probably eventualy upgrade to the GTX 680M.

Sounds good mate, not sure about the testing though, just be safe in the knowlage PCS are all over it like a tramp on binned chips! Aye, I wanted to do the same, figured as I was spoiling myself though I'd better wait and get what I want rather than give in to the spoilt brat inside me :p Have you posted your full purchase spec anywhere on here?

Same mate, except I got the 7970m and the 750GB Hybrid. Looks good and yea I took the same CPU, intel's turbo boost takes it up to 3.7 to I believe!

Oh yes, I remember the days of ZX80 vs ZX Spectrums discussions by friends in the playground. I think the first computer my family owned was "The DRAGON 32 or 64" .
Now those were the days!
