Hi,
I am looking for ram compatabilty advice. I have an Octane Clevo laptop model P775DM3-G purchased in 2016, with:
Intel® Core™i7 Quad Core Processor i7-6700k (4.0GHz) 8MB Cache
16GB HyperX IMPACT 2400MHz SODIMM DDR4 (1 x 16GB)
NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1080 - 8.0GB GDDR5 Video RAM - DirectX® 12.1, G-SYNC
I would like to increase the RAM to the max (64GB). The Spec (on the invoice) says: Supports DDR4 2133MHz
Is faster also supported (or is this the max speed)?
I understand that I need to match memory. Can I match in pairs or do all four need to match? Does brand (or anything else) also need to be matched?
One website says the best option is 'PC4-21300 DDR4 2666MHz 260pin SODIMM memory.'
Please can someone say what my best options are if I keep the current stick, and what I would gain if I get four new ones.
(eg Would it work to get two 2666MHz and one 2400MHz?)
Can I purchase this from PC Specialist?
Thanks,
Rob.
