btw can anyone recommend a steering wheel for racing games for about £40 - £60?

sadly, i have the same problem, the cheap ones all seem to be made of tacky plastic and all have ferrari plastered all over them which looks stupid, the best ones are thr £200+ Logitechs

really? where would you buy those? logitech website or do they sell them in high street stores?...... i don't think i'll pay 200 notes for one maybe 100 at a push but 200 seems a bit to steep haha

you may be able to get a G25 second hand from ebay for £100 but these can't really be found brand new, the G27 is £250

if you look here, you'll find the £40 ones are all made of plastic which looks horrible, im also not a fan of them using the ferrari badge on 90% of them

I myself just remembered fanatec they build some good looking ones, you could check out their site for some

i saw that one before, it has some good features from what i know, although i dont know much

the fanatec can have some bits added on like new pedals and carbon flappy paddles

for the spec:
Drop the PRO version of your motherboard, there is little need for it
Drop the sound card to onboard sound unless you do music editing or something similar, the onboard is really high quality these days

Other than that the spec looks great, you now have some spare cash to play around with if you want to, I recommend a keyboard/mouse upgrade myself, the Razer Arctosa i bought from PCS is amazing, can't be faulted and is great value for money not even being £50, i can go into more details of the keyboard if you want to...
As for mice, either the G500 or the Razer Deathadder should both be very good value for money
A small case upgrade would be good if you can afford it
:)

what case upgrade would you recommend? also is the monitor i have picked good enough for gaming? it was either that monitor or this http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/samsung-s24a350h-24-full-hd-led-backlit-monitor-10452250-pdt.html have i made the right choice in the IIYAMA E2473HDS 24" LED WIDESCREEN, 2 HDMI/DVI-D 1920x1080? i will probably upgrade the mouse and keyboard as well..... do you also think the platinum warranty is a bit OTT and why can't i select the option for arctic thermal paste when on other peoples threads they have it in there specs for £9...... also is the amd 7950 enough to max out most of the games out to this day?

sorry for all these questions i just wanna make the right purchase and be 100% satisfied and have no regrets thats why i'm a bit paranoid at the minute lol

the iiyama would be better in my honest opinion and as soon as i get enough cash, i will be getting the exact same one, many people on the site have the 24" model and they say its great

Case wise you could get the HAF922 or CM690II

Thermal Paste option can only be used on higher end laptops and overclocked systems, although you can phone up and request it (for £9 of course)

a 7950 should max out every game around at the moment, including battlefield 3, my 570 is a lot weaker and maxes everything (although im playing at 1360x768)

If you feel you need the platinum warranty then go for it, but i dont think its entirely necessary, if you do decide to drop, make sure to get the silver for a fiver

yeah i have upgraded the case and i'd probably gonna drop the warranty to silver. i have one last question if i was to use the 3 day fast track system should i worry about rushed build quality? thanks for all your help wozza i'll defiantly be adding to your rep.

do not worry about rushed quality it will be perfectly fine

the majority of the time where your computer is built is when it is in waiting, you pretty much jump to the front of the queue

but the question is, would you sacrifice a few parts to get it a week early?

yeah your probably right mate.....reckon i'll just save the money and go with standard...... if i go with standard instead of fast track and i was to order on Monday 12th the and all goes well with parts and no problems during testing it should at my house in about 2 - 3 weeks??

i can almost guarantee it will be with you in 3 weeks, the only reason it wouldnt be is if a part is out of stock for a long time

you can check if your parts are out of stock by adding a fast track to your spec and then clicking proceed, if it gives you an error and a list of products, these are out of stock, although they should be back by the time you have reached the front of the queue

I have a different opinion regarding Warranty but it is because I am pretty risk averse. If I am spending around £2000 in a pc I'd go for gold or platinum, I think it is good value for money if you compare it to other retailers. The chances of having an issue with your pc in the 2nd or 3rd year might be small but still a possibility.

Platinum for piece of mind. I spent quite a lot and the support offered is great and good value for money, I had 2 issues and those were resolved in less than 1 week on each occasion.
