PC for photo editing (Lightroom and Photoshop) + casual gaming

Afternoon all,

I bought a PC from here about 6 years ago, following some excellent advise from the guys/girls here on the forum and now it's time for an upgrade so hoping for more of the same. Simply put I'm looking for a new desktop for photo editing in Lightroom and photoshop as well as some periodic gaming. I've got a budget of c£2,000 including VAT which only needs to cover the desktop as I already have monitors, keyboard, etc along with licences to all software. The only essentials are:

1tb SSD for use as a scratch disk
8tb HHD for use as primary drive for media
(I intend to reuse an old 2TB drive for games)

My current case is a "FRACTAL DESIGN ARC MIDI R2 MID-TOWER CASE" and ideally I wouldn't like to go any larger than this, although if that is essential then happy to be guided. The rest is really everything I'm looking for guidance on!

Finally I have included my current specification machine below for reference, although if anyone knows a good place to sell old parts please let me know.

The 9700k seems to offer about the best performance in PS and Lightroom, certainly at this price point. The 9900k is a little faster, but is very hot and expensive.
The monitor is 1080p so a GTX 1060 is fine from the gaming POV and I gather PS prefers Nvidia to AMD GPUs a bit. The monitor isn't Freesync so that's not a consideration.
I put 32gb RAM as I assume you're working with projects that would benefit from it versus 16gb, but do make sure before buying.
High frequency as PS and gaming to a degree benefit from it
8TB drive and 1TB NVMe SSD as asked for. You'll have Windows on the 970 Evo of course.
High end motherboard with USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type C at the rear.

You could consider other cases, especially other Fractal ones, but the 275R is fine and relatively compact.
