PC Gaming entry level

Hi all,

I would like to replace my 10 year old machine with a low-end gaming PC. Budget: 500 €.

I play:

- RTS Spring derived (as Zero-K), Ages of Empires, and some Total War episodes (in addition to the very old Total Annihilation).
- Sim City style managerial games
- Kerbal Space Program not heavily modified

I don't demand high details. Monitor resolution is 1920x1080.

I don't feel that you would get value for money at this budget level unfortunately. The system will be fraught with compromise and not offer any future upgrade potential.

Would a laptop be an option? You could likely purchase an off the shelf laptop that would do what you wish. Would have the additional perk of being portable.

I'm not sure to be honest. I don't really know what can be had. I tend to only keep in touch with what's happening with the PCS hardware.

For gaming, you're looking at ITRO £700 just to get started with a PC nowadays.
