The budget is the price of the PC that Bunz was interested in from PC World: http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/packard-bell-ipower-i9521-uk-04144137-pdt.html

Have a look at the GPU they've plonked in there ;)

Especially that teh rig is £899, I speced an IDENTICAL rig on PCS, except for one thing, the CPU, had to chose the next i7 800 up because PCS dont even stock that lesser CPU that PCWorld used, all in all, the rig came out to £650. So how on earth do PCWorld justify £899???

Yes, sometimes i too need help hehehe

Looks like a great build, and worth it if your friend can stretch his budget by £3.01 :D

Hehe, a spanner has been put in the works for now so new comp has to wait. However the upside is the spec will cheapen further:)

I don't there's much to be said about the spec Sleinous, I would just pick up on the CPU Cooler being the standard one an all. If your mate can squeeze an extra £19 into their budget then they can have a nice, shiny upgraded one :)

This may have to be brought forward sooner that I thought given that my current laptop has died. Would like to catch up soon.

Basically, added the copper heatpipe that meds suggested, gone for a GTX 470 (same card as mine) but ditched teh ability to add a second in SLI, dont think youll get to teh stage where a GTX 470 will struggle for a VERY long time lol. Therefore, able to save money on motherboard, and downgrade PSU to a TX650W instead of 750W. Lastly, a WD1002FAEX as boot-drive as I know you hate waiting for stuff to load :p and osme say its slightly faster than the green drive, so i'm playing it safe here, to make sure youd ont bite my head off :p

Price: £1,016.00 including VAT and delivery.

OK, done, that is the final spec above.

Notice that this is WITH the monitor and WITH the WLAN card.

I also upgraded the CPU to the AMD Phenom X4 970 3.50Ghz instead of the AMD Phenom X4 965 3.40Ghz that I originally went for which has increased the price by £16, but heck, it's worth it.

The whole spec was exactly £1000 with the 965 processor, its now £1016 with the 970 processor.

Heck i'll pay the difference if you want lmao, it's that good a deal.

Text me if you have another question as i'm off soon. =]

You will with our standard monitors. Our iiyama range come with DVI cables supplied.

yes, you can't really beat £5, however, for £20 more you can get the 22" IIYAMA monitor, (which will have DVI included, so, infact, for £15 more, because you then no longer have to buy the cable).

No noticeable difference, it says the IIYAMA has a 5ms response time, although all the other IIYAMA's have 2ms response time, so not sure if thats a typo or not. The standard ones have 2ms response time. The IIYAMA has an HDMI/DVI/VGA output, the standard has only DVI/VGA output.

Apart from that, just the quality of the monitor itself? Slightly nicer / better build-quality?

The biggest deifference is the iiyamas are LED monitors and the standard monitors are LCD. This makes the iiyama much thinner (ultra thin!) and more stylish. The iiyama also have a better picture - an overall higher quality monitor.
