PC Repair Programmes - an untapped vein for PCS?

Hey,

So, my former PC had various registry cleaners and repair software during its lifetime; eventually relying on Uniblue, until some malware slipped through the net and slowly fried my motherboard.

Anyway, when purchasing my new PC, I considered opting for Norton 360 suite as a 'one-stop shop' for my new baby (I hear Norton has a far smaller digital footprint since my bad experiences some years ago).

However, after reading various reviews, I resolved on Norton Internet Security 2011. My order was before it was offered by PCSpecialist and I purchased it seperately (at double the frickin' price! >.< ); making any alteration to my order pointless, as I'd already shelled-out and couldn't be arsed with whinging for a refund. This still left me with a gap in my PC tool kit and I went hunting for an improvement on Uniblue for clean-up and maintenance issues.

My research came up with Reimage as the market leader and I'm currently intending for this to be my first online upload; once the Norton disc is installed.

What's everyones' experiences with this sort of software? Are we all in the same boat and making additional purchases, after our rigs arrive? Is this an area where PCS could try and negotiate some deals with companies and offer products as part of its overall package?

My personal view is that registry cleaners / repairers are usually more trouble than theyre worth.

An interesting point Fectious.

The software we offer is a bit limited, and this is entirely intentional.

A large portion of our customer base has cited the clean desktops and lack of "bundled" software as one of our positive features.

From a personal note when looking at some of the bloatware that comes with some pre packaged PC's i dispair!

Although if there is any particular software that our forum members feel we are lacking as an option, then lets hear it!
