Hello!

I bought my PC from you guys and it got delivered a couple of days ago on Tuesday, Feb 23rd and haven't really had smooth sailing at all :(

I've had 3 random restarts, a BSOD and a freeze-up where the monitors went semi-black and just had RGB coloured text from my game showing. Each time I have been playing a video game when it happens.

From memory, the first random reboot was yesterday (24/02) at 11.30'ish am (UK)
The 2nd was around 15.30pm yesterday
The BSOD was around 16.50pm today and the black screen/lock-up happened at around 17.50pm today

MEMORY.DMP - I had issues with this, the only thing I could do was copy it to my desktop and zip it or otherwise, it told me I had no permissions - I hope that's ok!

Thank you so much in advance for any help you can give me!

The only thing I’d know about this is that maybe the RAM is running at too high speeds for the mobo..? I know some people like @ubuysa know a lot more about software and these types of software issues, so I’d just suggest waiting till he comes by and helps you out

First things first, when you set it up, did you run Windows Update repeatedly until no more were found?

No, I had no idea I had to. I did have issues initially setting it up as when I first powered it on my monitor or mouse and keyboard weren't working so I had to hold the power button down to try and restart again (which worked).

The motherboard supports the speeds. That in itself is unlikely to be the issue.
First thoughts would be the GPU for me? Just given what youve said about the screen display.

Turn the system off, and remove then replace the GPU and the RAM, check connections are all ok and nothing loose, just checking everything is seated properly.
Windows update until you are blue in the face, including optional updates, then see if your GPU has updated drivers to install, then see where you are at.

When your system arrives, Windows isn't in a fully configured state so running update over and over again is a necessary step to get everything up to speed. And as @sibun1 says, you'll also want to go to the Nvidia site and download the most recent driver update for your GPU. Following these steps will mean your system is fully up to date and hopefully put an end to the problems.

If it doesn't sort it, at least we can rule that out and work out where to go from there (y)

I'll get on to that now!

Thank you all so so much for the speedy replies, I was not expecting that! I'll report back once I'm blue in the face with updates ;)

Thank you again!

I had a couple of Windows updates, so installed those, updated to today's release of graphics card drivers and I just got a random reboot just now, no BSOD or changes to display, it just rebooted (again, playing a game) :(

I forgot to add to the original post, the code for the BSOD was CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED.

Did you try reseating components to ensure thats not an issue?

Hmmm.

My next port of call would be to potentially see if an SFC scan might help.

So.... Right-click on the the start menu button and choose Command Prompt (Admin) and when the new window pops up, type sfc/scannow and hit enter. When the scan is complete, restart the PC and see how you get on.

If there's no improvement, we'll need to call in the big guns :D

If the BSOD was before you'd run Windows Update until no more updates were found (including optional updates) then there is little point me analysing that dump.

Now you have run Windows Update repeatedly, see how it goes. If it BSODs again upload that new dump and we'll see what's going on. :)

Ahhh, I thought the scan that @AgentCooper said to try did it, I had no more reboots all of last night or from 10am this morning, but alas, it just happened again :(
