Please help, I need reassurance. (This will be a gaming pc strictly for fps on low settings)

Hey, this will be my first PC since a young child, not confident in building PC myself. Could anyone take the time to review and critique and let me know if there are any pointless purchases. The M.2 ssds are on special offer and I do not consider them pointless yet I am clueless to this so any advice would be appreciated, point out any mistakes. Thank you very much!!

Thanks I'm reading it now, what would you consider the best alternative Ryzen processor, and is it worth getting overclocked? (heard it was only worth using intel if OCd)

Which 4th gen? Zen 4 is a while away yet. Zen 3 is getting ready for TR but has been available in AM4 for a while now.

Said october release in the post, however after much reading isn't rocket lake different from sky lake? and also I believe I fit into this category "The current chips beat Intel in almost every metric, the only area that Intel still win is 1080p competitive gaming. Also after adding a 5600X and a worse motherboard, I would receive less fps for a higher price.

If you are referring to the AMD vs Intel thread, that was the previous generation of AMD. The current generation of AMD (Which is the 5000 series) beats Intel in every metric.

The release date that you are quoting came and went last October with the release of the 5000 series chips, more commonly known as Zen3.

I'm unsure where you are getting your information from or quoting performance differences from but I'm happy for you to make your selection based on that advice if that's what you want to do. The initial post made me think that you weren't very well versed in technology and thus wanted some advice on the best choices to make.

If you are convinced that the choices you have made are the best then I'm happy you're happy

I really didn't want to start some strange AMD vs Intel war I just wanted helpful information like if my ram is enough or if I'll need a bigger power supply.

Not a lot I can say really. I'll take a stab at it, not that it'll be worth much to you.

There was nothing tangible in it between the 2 of them. They pretty much traded blows within margin of error.
They were both OC.... which isn't what we would recommend on AMD as AMD tends to run better in single thread without an OC.
The person was playing at 1080p with all the settings at unrealistic levels to try and push the GPU to insane levels..... on a 3090. This is just beyond ridiculous as a show of anything that actually means anything.

Like I said previously though I'm happy if you're happy. I'm not going to be able to offer the sort of assistance that you're looking for.

I cannot choose to upgrade to a 5600X or 11600K coming from a 3600x + b550F.

I would lean towards 5600X

The author of the video is device lab he also would lean towards a 5600x

What you should also look at is average temp and power draw in that video instead of just fps
