Pls Help!

Ok so i bought my PC a couple of weeks ago and it came in the post today i set it all up and install the drivers, but i hooked it up the my 19" HD television using HDMI. For some reason there are Black Bars on the edges of my screen, also the picture is not HD and is flickering up and down slightly. The text and icons on screen is also Very Very smalll and because the picture is not HD I can barely read it.

Pls help, Is it the HDTV or the PC itself?

cant remember how to do this but have you changed your resolution to the correct setting?

Is it set to recommended resolution,
right click on desktop/screen resolution.
If so try other resolutions,or have a look in nvidia control panel to see if there is a scaling option.
I have an ATI gpu,so not sure about latest nvidia control panel settings.

Should be able to be sorted in the control panel. It is just the resolution is not set correctly. Have a fiddle around or even better, find the resolution of your TV and set it to that.
