so i got this error today, when i put my laptop on charge i get the plugged in, not charging i've tried restarting the laptop but it hasnt helped what can i do to fix this as i need my latop for work.

Probably the quickest attempt at a quick fix is below to try to reset the battery to see if this helps:
1. Remove all connections to the laptop. (USB, power, etc.)
2. Remove the battery.
3. Press and hold the power on button for 30 seconds - 1 full minute.
4. Let go of the power on button.
5. Put the battery back in.
6. Plug in the power to the laptop and to the wall.
7. Do not plug in any other devices.
8. Turn on the laptop and see if it is now charging.

I'd also check the contact on the battery and the laptop to make sure there's no obstruction and that they are clean

well the battery is built in so the only way to take it out is if i open it, would thay void my warranty? only had the laptop 8 months

Is there any indication on the charging brick that it is getting power?

its the Proteus II, the charging brick does get power since it has a green led light thats on.
