Potential Desktop PC Purchase for Friend

Hi All,

I'm putting together a desktop PC spec for a friend and was hoping to get some feedback on this setup. I am aiming for it to be a decent PC gaming platform with some reasonable future proofing. A budget of £1600, including peripherals which I've matched to the below.

Please let me know what you think and if there are likely to be any additional deals or discounts that I can wrangle with PC Specialist. It's similarly priced to similar specs on other websites, but I would like to persuade her to go through PC Specialist as I've found them to be decent when I bought my gaming laptop.

We cant advise of any deals on the forum, as it would defeat the point of PCE advertising them elsewhere.

From a quick look id say the six core processor is OTT but you don't mention what it will be used for.

8GB RAM will bottleneck such a high end CPU before it runs out of performance, so best case scenario your friend will need to add more ram later anyway. However id say you should drop the CPu to a quadcore i7, they are more than quick enough and should last for ages.

basically we need to know what kind of uses the PC will be put to before we can fully advise.
