potentially my new pc - what do you think?

I am looking to buy a new PC as mine has died after almost 6 years.
I have chosen the below spec. Any changes or advice would be appreciated

I'm not looking to oveclock but like the option encase I change my mind in the future.
I plan to explore VR gaming next year and need something that can handle eg the Oculous Rift or similar when it comes out in 2016.

The fan controller says it will mean I get 5 case fans. The cooler also has a fan but this is controlled via Corsair link it says. Not sure if this is too many for this case?

I chose the higher than needed 850w PSU, just to allow me to possibly add anything later..

I see from other posts, people's first questions are budget and usage which I forgot to mention.
My budget is not fixed. I'd like to keep it under £2500 ideally, but even then still flexible.

I do want it to be able to play the latest games, and be a good all rounder capable of being used for video editing and also running multiple virtual PCs at once (occasionally)

Don't you need 1000w to power 2x980tis and that cpu, especially if overclocked? If another gpu was what you were thinking of adding in future the psu maybe something to up...possibly.

Otherwise for a video editing, virtual pc, gaming machine it looks good. You really need raid SSDs? I'd get gold warranty for a build that expensive though.

Indeed I see the configurator says I'd need 1000w if having 2x gtx980 ti.
Do I need SLI though... I thought one of these GPUs is pretty powerful? By the time I need a second... Wouldn't there be a new single card out instead that's better?

My previous PC had 2x 128GB Samsung SSDs in raid 0 as my C drive. It is overkill.... But I thought at the time why not.
That was 6 years ago.
SSDs are so much cheaper now so I'm still kind of thinking... Why not

I don't really know what I'd add in the future... Just want future proofing as best as can be foreseen, which is not easy to do.

Yes SLI is unnecessary unless you want 4k gaming right now. I just didn't know if that was one of your upgrade plans. But yeah sticking to one powerful gpu is often the most sensible plan of attack.

I watched the NVidia release for the 980 ti, and they claimed that it was designed to do 4k right out the box.. They said for that card being able to do that was an absolute must.

That said, i have taken your advice and changed to the 1000w as we don't know what tomorrow will bring and the price difference is not much.
I have also changed to the gold warranty... And changed to the blue ray writer.

You got me thinking about the raid SSDs. If my memory serves, I belive 6 years ago i raid 0 them, not for performance, but for a larger C drive. The cost back then for larger SSDs was just astronomical.
I just looked again at the configuraor, but the difference between 1x 480gb and 2x 240gb raided is £8.
So I am better going for performance and capacity. So raid wins.

I called PCS and got talked into ditching both SSDs in Raid, and instead getting a PCI-E SSD.
Much appreciated advice as this gives similar capacity, same data redundancy, but MUCH better performance.
