Hi, I have a problem with my pc in that when I plug my power cable in I Do not get the red lights to indicate power, at first I thought the switch at the back was off but after checking it was on I have to take power cable in and out a few times and switch plug sockets and eventually the red lights to on and when switched on it stays in and works fine, last night the red lights came on so continued plugging mouse keyboard ethernet in only to find the red light has gone out, eventually after a min or so swapping plugs etc it came on I switched on as soon as I saw the red lights and worked fine any suggestions?

Check the cable - might be a lose connection, or perhaps a fussy socket. Ensure it's pushed into the back of the computer properly, takes a good shove.

I have to set my pc up every time I use and has been fine til the last couple of times not on now til Thursday so will try and give it a good shove and maybe just unplug from the wall when I pack away and leave in the pc
Will let you know how I get on

Ok so I plugged pc in put the power cable in back and gave a good shove could not go in anymore, and nothing no red light, its a double plug socket cube 3 way ext in left my pc in right, changed plug to left socket in spare 3 way ext and red lights came on, plugged something else into the right socket and it worked, strange, on tuesday plugging into all sockets produced no red lights but eventually did, im now def beginning to think its the socket, but what I find strange is these sockets have been fine for the last month.

Also I have a PS3 and the power cable looks v similar are these sort of cables universal ? just incase its something to do with cable ?

Just plugged my pc into an ext lead running off a diff socket in the house red lights came on straight away, went out to get a drink came back and red lights were gone and no power, tried taking the hdmi out the socket and got quite a bad static shock !! and could see tiny static sparks when the HDMI touched metal on back of case put hdmi lead back in and after my shock the red lights came on.
