Pre-production taking ages?

Hi,

I ordered an Ocatan II laptop on 09-10-2015 and went into the pre-production stage on the 13-10-2015. It's been over a week now and still has no progressed into the building stage. I've had email replies and have been told the parts are in stock so just wondering why it's taking so long to get into the building stage?

Because they have a queue of builds before your one. The estimated date you would've been given is only an estimate based off of the last few weeks times, it's just a case of waiting

That's understandable. I don't mean to be another complaining customer it's just my first highish spec laptop capable of running games at a decent graphics level and fps. Best computer I've had so far is a HP pavilion 15" with AMD A8 cpu and R5 graphics chip with 1gb vram and 8gb ram. Just really impatient in general but understandably PCS have other orders to deal with and my laptop could be number 100 in a que of other orders before mine. First time ordering a custom built laptop or pc as well so not used to how long it takes or the process in general.

Haha, everyone gets impatient for their new machine, I was the same. It will get to you eventually and when it does it will be worth it

I ordered on the same day as you and also got pre- production on the 13th. 9 working days later still on pre-production. Could be a long wait....

Yep seems like it will be. Like GeorgeHillier said though, it will be worth it.

I rang up PCS on Thursday and was told the i7 6700 was out of stock only problem I have with this is that I was told on email that everything was in stock and the laptop was just in a build que. I changed the cpu to the i5 6600k as it's in stock and will most likely only be playing games for now and I've done 3D modeling on worse cpu's so doubt it can be any worse performance wise for 3D modeling etc from what I'm normally used to.

Hopefully it'll go into building tomorrow and hopefully should get it by Friday but knowing my luck, I'm not holding my breath lol.
