Problems after clean Win 7 install (Vortex 3)

Hello, I seem to have run into somwhat of an issue after performing a clean install of Windows 7 on my Vortex 3 (i7-3720QM, AMD 7970M, Intel N135 802.11N).

The wireless has stopped working and it doesn't even seem to recognise that I have a wireless adapter and won't install the drivers off the disc.

So planning on reinstalling Windows 7 again, any help as to which Drivers I need and the order in which I should install them from the disc so that I can avoid said issue again would be appreciated.

+ If I want to update my Catalyst Driver to 13.1 rather than default should I hold off on installing the Chipset and VGA drivers? List of Drivers available off Disc below:

MAIN:
1. Install Chipset Driver
2. Install VGA Driver
4. Install LAN Driver
5. Install Cardreader Driver
6. Install Touchpad Driver
7. Install Hotkey AP
8. Install USB 3.0 Driver
9. Install MEI Driver
10. Install Audio Driver

OPTION:
1. Install Webcam Driver
2. Install WLAN Driver (currently won't install)
3. Install WiDi AP (currently won't install)
4. Install Fingerprint Driver
5. Install Combo BT Driver (currently wont install)
6. Install THX TruStudio AP
7. Install IRST Driver
8. Install Rapid Start Driver

Thanks for any help and advice... :)

So when you press the FN + WIFI function key is the WIFI light even coming on? Is that when you get the error message?

Another option would be co connect via cable and run an update to get the WIFI drivers.

I would think that the Chipset drivers would automatically install with windows 7 but theres no harm in going strait to the 13.1 drivers, fresh install of drivers usually give better results.

Hope this helps

FN + WIFI does nothing, neither does trying to enable/disable Wifi via the Hotkey AP...

Had a look at Sagers driver site via a 2nd PC and as far as I can tell they are the same drivers as the ones that come on the disc?

Something maybe of note, when I installed Win 7 the HDD was partitioned into 2, one at about 70 or so MB and the other the rest where I installed Windows. Have I missed something, am I supposed to do something with the 1st partition, does it contain factory drivers???

The small partition you see is the system reserved partition, (usually 100MB)
It contains files needed to start your computer & access to WinRE tools from boot.
It is also needed for bitlocker (available in the Ultimate and Enterprise editions)
it's best to delete this partition as well as the other one during a clean install, the install will create it again, this is unlikely though to be anything to do with the issue you're having with the network adaptor.
Also you should always install the chipset driver first.

Ok, update to the situation...

I seem to have managed to bypass the issue by going into Device Manager and update drivers from there by pointing the windows drive locator to the disc drive containing the drivers disc. Bit of a roundabout way of doing things but seemed to have worked. :)

Now that I have figured that I I'll try to do a do over and reinstall Windows 7 a new, so from what I gather:

- Delete Partition and Install Win 7.
- Install Chipset off the Drivers Disc.
- Install Intel HD 4000 Graphics Drivers from: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Default.aspx?lang=eng
- Install AMD Catalyst Mobility 13.1 WHQL (or Beta) Drivers from: http://www.guru3d.com/files_details/amd_catalyst_13_1_whql_download.html
- Download and install MS .Net Framework 4.0 for the above.

If anyone thinks I have I missed anything or made mistakes in the above please feel free to tell me, also I haven't installed stuff like THX and other such optional drivers in the past. Are those drivers required to get the speakers/webcam/trackpad working as best as possible?

Thanks for all and any help and input. :)
