Processor comparisent?

Hi,

What would be the best processor out of these two...taking future upgrades unti account.

AMD PHENOM II X4 970 (3.50GHz/8MB CACHE/AM3)
AMD PHENOM II X6 1055T (2.80GHz/9MB CACHE/AM3/)

the quad core seems to be the best in terms of speed...i plan on using the pc for movies/light gaming.

I'm not an expert but I'd say the Phenom X4. I was deciding between those two processors myself (although to save a bit of money I went with the X4 965 in the end)

This website is useful to see some speed comparisons - not a massive difference between the two. For me though I think the X4 970 is better value than the X6 because not enough games out there take advantage of 6 cores yet - so anything that only uses 4 cores will work better on the X4 thanks to the faster GHz

X6 1055T for good performance & futureproofing
