FRAPS can be used to show FPS whilst gaming, though some games have their own FPS counters anyways.

I tend to use CoreTemp and GPU-Z for temperature monitoring if I feel the need.

Whilst FRAPs can be used to measure FPS in games it does have a resource cost and can hamper your performence. If you have a Nvidia card, you can use ShadowPlay.

ShadowPlay only works in Nvidia 6 series and higher. Shame as I wanted to use it on my 580 :(

programmes like Fraps will display FPS, but also tend to lower frame rates so isn't really a true reflection. As already mentioned games like Battlefield have a command which can be entered into the console to display FPS.

Same as Rakk, i use fraps (quite handy as i can also record if i need too) i still get 80-120+ fps steady on bf4 on ultra with this, and i use GPU-Z(I think 1 of you guys told me it was good ;)) Does shadowplay show FPS? i did have a mess around with it but found fraps easier!
