Proteus 2 ssd

Hi all

I have been looking at the proteus II recently but ideally I would like the Samsung 850 Pro 256GB ssd which is not one of the options. Does anybody know whether or not if I purchase the laptop with just the 500gb HD option if I would be able to purchase the Samsung ssd separately and install it myself?

Yes you would, although you'll have to check the documentation to see how. Most laptops have a panel on the bottom that you can remove to access the HDD.

It's got space for 1 x M2 SSD which is a normal SSD but without the exterior case and a different connector to standard SATA, and 1 x 2.5" SATA bay for a standard SSD or HDD.

So you could choose one with an M2 SSD as the primary drive then put in your 2.5" SSD when you get it if you wanted.

See if the DVD drive has an option for a HDD caddy. If so, you can have an SSD, a HDD and an M.2 SSD like SpyderTracks said.

There is no DVD bay for this model. So SSD +M2 only.
