PSU Noise after using for a while

Hi everyone, I have a problem with a PC I recently bought for my wife.

Randomly after some time of usage the PSU becomes quite noisy- a almost guttural fan sound. I am assuming it is once a certain heat threshold is reached, because when you in the morning at first use the PC - it is dead quiet. After the noise starts, restarting will have no effect.
The fan sound is not consistent either when this starts – the pitch increases and decreases like it is straining.

This is the PC spec
COOLERMASTER SILENCIO 452 QUIET MID TOWER CASE

ASUS® Z170-P: ATX, LG1151, USB 3.0, SATA 6GBs

CORSAIR 450W VS SERIES™ VS-450 POWER SUPPLY

(Beware Loud Audio when I move the phone or reach for power switch to cycle power)

The H80i in my PC was very loud until I set corsair link right – but I am worried that the above noise is not consistent and there is no solution but RMA.

And this PSU doesn’t look modular so I fear I will have to send the entire case back because I can’t reconnect everything PCS did.

Thoughts/Advice?

Double check that there are no cables near the fans that could be contributing to the sound.

If it is just occuring when the fan ramps up then it's likely to be a failed bearing, in which case, you're right, an RMA would be required.

Notice you only took out standard warranty, so you'd be liable for courier costs.

ye ole warranty gamble - I have bought so many warranties that were never used - damn Murphy's law.

I live about an hour from wakefield and I'm still in the phase where I'm looking for any excuse to drive my new car - so will take it there Monday.

Thanks for the reply - it helps when someone agrees with what you suspect.

Before you take it along there, you will need to sort out an RMA for it first, just so they know they're expecting it if nothing else.
