Hi guys,

I'm looking to get a high performance gaming PC that will be able to handle all types of games, I don't know too much about hardware but was hoping for some advice or recommendations on the following build:

Case:
CORSAIR OBSIDIAN SERIES™ 500D SE CASE
Processor:
Intel Core i7 Six Core Processor i7-8700k (3.7 GHz) 12mb Cache

Motherboard:
ASUS® ROG STRIX Z390-F GAMING
Memory (RAM):
32GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 2666MHz (2 x 16GB)
Graphics Card:
8GB NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 2060 SUPER
Storage Drive:
1TB Samsung 860 QVO 2.5" SSD
Power Supply:

CORSAIR 550W TXM SERIES
Processor Cooling:
CORSAIR H100I RGB PLATINUM CPU COOLER
Extra Case Fans:
CORSAIR LL120 RGB FAN KIT
Sound Card:
ASUS XONAR SE 5.1-Channel Gaming Audio Card
Wired/Wireless Networking:
Wireless 802.11N 300Mbps/2.4GHz PCI-E Card
Monitor:
SAMSUNG C27F396 Full HD 27", Full HD 1920 x 1080, 60Hz

Any help is appreciated

Thanks

To be honest this seems a little all over the place. Intel are not great currently and that motherboard probably over priced. Really only need 16gb of RAM and probably higher speed. Can also do better on the monitor I imagine.

Others will jump in i'm sure, as i'm no expert, but what is your total budget for build and monitor? Pretty sure you can do a lot better.

I don’t really want to spend more than £1800, I was just looking to use the one I currently own.

Not really clued up on this so any help is appreciated

Cannot comment on a lot as cases and such are out of my knowledge area but a few things to consider. Agree with Dan79, 16 GB RAM is enough for gaming and Intel are currently pants, an AMD will give better value and much better performance.

Onboard sound is enough today, they are all decent, so no need to add a sound card. I would suggest two drives, a fast m2 PCIe NVMe of about 500GB for the OS and main software/games and a decent 7200rpm HDD for storage. Fo 1800 you should be able to put a pretty decent rig together and others with more knowledge should be along to help, if not give this a bump in a day or so.
