Question - Windows 8 pro / family

Hello,


I've ordered a laptop without an OS. As asked, I specified I planned on installing Windows 8 on it, because my university provides me with a free licensing key through the DreamSpark program. I just realized it was a W8 PRO key, not the regular one (family?). Do I need to specify that as well or will I be able to enter my W8 Pro key into the pre-installed OS anyway?

I'm confused. If you ask for a system without an OS installed there won't be anywhere to enter a key in the first place....?

And I was answered that even though I didn't ask for an OS, it would come pre-install anyway

There will be a trial version installed and you got around 30 days to enter the key. Not sure if it will work but in the worst case scenario you could just do a clean installation. You could also try to contact PCS and send your key.

Thanks again Keynes I'll try and contact them! I posted here because last time I wrote an e-mail it took them a bit of time to answer and I ordered it on fast track so I thought maybe my e-mail would arrive too late!
