Questionnaire... question

Hi PCS forums...

I was curious if it was against forum rules if I posted a questionnaire here?

I'm a student doing a HNC in Computing and I have an assignment to design a gaming PC.. Part of the assignment is to design a questionnaire (Which i've done) which is about 20 questions long and I was hoping I could get some real feedback from it and then use the answers as part of the assignment i'm writing up, if someone could let me know if this would be ok or not, that'd be great

Jason.

I wouldn't have a problem with that either, we should be supporting learning. Happy to help. :)

I don't think anyone will have a problem as long as the questionnaire doesn't break any of the forum rules (asking about politics for example) - the topic doesn't suggest that it will. This sort of thing has been allowed in the past.

I assume the questionnaire will be from surveymonkey (or similar) rather than posting it here and folk replying to the thread (therefore not having anonymous responses)??

Yeah, it's completely anonymous. It's a Google forms questionnaire, so I would just post the link. The only really personal details it asks is name, age and salary.. (I was against adding the last one but was told I had to) but yeah I wouldn't know who's taken what questionnaire. Also, any idea where I would post it??

Thankyou all for your positive responses. Oh and merry Christmas!

Personally I think that whoever insisted on salary being mandatory is being unwise. People will lie, I certainly will. It's nobody's business but mine where my income comes from and how much it is. I understand it's not your call though. :)

I'd go ahead and post the link, it's not my call of course but I'm sure one of the mods will vet it for you.

Hi all! Happy new year to everyone at PCS!
It's been a busy Christmas for me as i'm sure it has for everyone else so i'm sorry for the late response.. But as no one has said anything against it, here is my questionnaire: [Link removed whilst I check with the admins]

If you could answer all the questions truthfully, that'd be fantastic, it's not a difficult questionnaire and I appreciate all your help and feedback. If I can get just a few responses, that'd be fantastic.

and again, i'll only use the results as part of my college assignment and it's all confidential.. well, you'll see for yourself as you take it!

Kind regards,

Jay.

Questionnaires in general are allowed as long as they don't involve such things that aren't to be discussed on the forums and/or may cause offence, this case however, I'm going to remove it as the first few lines in the survey are 'We're a new company looking to build affordable and reliable gaming PC's to the general public. We've conducted this questionnaire as part of our initial research into the PC gaming scene and is made for veteran gamer and people who play games casually', I realise it's only a survey for a course but I'd like to check the content with the admins first I'm afraid (sorry if I'm being a bit harsh, just want to check it's not breaking any rules before allowing it).

Ah, that sounds reasonable Rakk, it's not fair to use PCS's fora to assist a rival company - even a start-up. In my book it is "advertising a competitor"...

My understanding is that this is a fictitious company made up for the purposes of the assignment. I teach BTEC's and often set students assignments where they are making up their own company and have to gather information in such a way. If however it is a genuine start up then I'm with ubuysa.

This.

It's a made up company given to us based off a scenario we're given as part of the assignment. The bio written at the top is just something I made up to make the questionnaire look more "Professional". The first paragraph has noting to do with anything, it's just there to look like a survey you'd normally see. If it makes it better, I can remove that part from it because the feedback would be more important to me.
