Questions about spec in my sig (3 to be precise)

So as you may be able to tell by the title, I have a few questions about the spec in my sig. So if have answers to all of them or maybe just 1 i would be greatful :) Thanks.

1) As you can see from the spec in my sig, I am thinking of getting an overclocked system, now is it worth getting this for my gaming, hd video editing and blu-ray needs, or could a non-overclocked cpu handle it.

2) I know if I was to play games on a system like this the fps would be high, but I was thinking of getting 3d, which I have heard drastically cuts the fps rate, even with 2 3gb gtx580, so would you suggest getting a 3rd gtx580 to help the 3d performance, fps wise, or do you think it is not needed and would just be overkill?

3) Last, but deffinately least, you can see I have opted for a 3 monitor setup, now 3d/non-3d games on one monitor would run perfectly, with just 2 gtx580's, but over 3 monitors the graphics cards have to work harder so do you suggest, like above, getting a 3rd gtx580 or do you think 2 would suffice?

I cannot answer the questions with any authority...

..but 3 x 580s? Are you mad!

I cannot think of any concievable need for 3 high end GPUs. I am sure whatever you intend to do, 2 way SLi will cover it, but even then not sure its worth doing 3 Monitor/3D setups atm, with the cost of all the parts, with the result not top notch as yet.

See below for more learned responses :D

1 Overclocking is just an enthusiast Hobby, you don't need it.
2 It's not needed & would be overkill.
3 If you want to run 3 monitors eyefinity is the way to go.

1) Okay, I go with non-overclock.
2) But would it boost fps when playing in 3d?
3) And i want 3d vision, so kinda go to go with nvidia

Why? Any specific reasons, or is it just personal opinion?

I have two 3GB GTX 580's and run 3 screens perfectly fine, my games run at around 6000 x 1080 and games like f1 2010 on full graphics on 3 screens runs at between 100 - 120 fps whcih is awesome.

I dont think 3D is wroth it though tbh. Its good but guaranteed after playing it for a little while you wont play it in 3D anymore. very much like kinect in my opinion, I now only ever use kinect when programming, never use it for games on xbox anymore.

The main reason I said that is because you can run 3 monitors on one card with eyefinity,
but yeah,just my opinion.
It's irrelevant now anyway in this case, because Vimto1 wants to go with Nvidia 3D.

I guess but if your runnign 3 screens at such a high resolution, a single ati card wont cope, it doesnt have enough vram to handle the 6000 x 1080 resolutions on full spec.
