Hi pals, I hope you are having a nice Friday!
I just have a quick little question on SSD's/SATA if any of you have a spare second. I also have a review coming for my PC very soon and thanks again to everyone who very kindly helped me along the way.
OK so basically,
I have a TUF B550 Plus mobo, and at the moment I have an Intel 670 (PCIe 3.0) which is in the M.2_1 slot - this slot is PCIe 4.0 x4.
I plan on putting a new PCIe 4.0 NVMe in this 4.0 slot (either a 1 TB Firecuda 530 or 1 TB Samsung 980 Pro).
My plan then is to put the Intel 670 into the second M.2_2 slot, which is PCIe 3.0 x4.
In the manual for the mobo, it says: 'M.2_2 shares bandwidith with SATA6G_56. When M.2_2 is populated, SATA6G_56 will be disabled'.
In the diagram in the manual, it shows that there are 6 SATA slots from what I can tell; SATAG_1, SATAG_2, etc. (It looks like 1 and 2/3 and 4/5 and 6 are linked somehow from the diagram if that makes sense).
I do have a 2 TB Seagate HDD, and I'm not sure which SATA slot it's using. I guess what I'm asking is, if I use this M.2_2 slot, will it just disable the SATA6G_5 and SATA6G_6 slots so the other ones would be usable? And if my HDD turns out to be in one of these slots at the moment, do you reckon it's straightforward to just move it to one of the other SATA slots?
Thank you very much for any help and apologies if I haven't made this sound clear
