Quick question

Got a desired spec that I am going to order very shortly; however, I cannot afford the gpu I was going to get (gtx 570). So basically I'm wondering whether pcs can build me my spec as if the card was going in as I believe gpu's like this have a special power socket on the edge (seen on YouTube). I then just use the onboard integrated gpu till I source the the cash (within 2 months) to buy from them.

I'd love to save myself the hassle of installing the card by purchasing the comp with it already in! It's just I've over budgeted :(

whats your spec, may be able to help you save some cash elsewhere in your spec

I don't want to sacrafice the spec pal. You've seen it already - im the guy who was having a hard time choosing over the kingston and intel ssd lol. I basically have i5 2500, gen 3 mobo, Kingston ssd, 750 modular psu, sea gate 500gb hdd

Exactly pal :) ... Yeah it looks real easy but just want to put them in the picture so they set it up for a card to go in.

And taking on board what wozza said, do you think the 670 or whatever might require a different set up or will it have the same compatibility - slot in

I'm sure this would be fine, what ya could do is ask pcs when ordering, if they can plug the power cables in ready for the 570. So all ya gotta do is slot in the card, screw it in near the rear of case, then plug in the power cables. Job done. Make sure it goes into the top slot though.

what wozza said about the 670, I'm assuming he means the next line of up of gpu's which is likely to be next year sometime. You would be fine going for the new line up of gpu's, the gen 3 pci slots are for these. (I think)

I'd think that when the new line up comes out the 570 maybe have dropped slightly in price.

it should be exactly the same, although may also take advantage of PCI-e 3.0 making it faster, shouldn't be a problem though

That's exactly what I mean mate about getting pcs to plug the cables in ready for me to plug it in. What ya mean by making sure it is the top slot pal? The one at the top when the case is stood up? And is there a screw sort of section to secure it or do I need to supply the screw and screw it into the case

Have a look at my pc, on the 580 (570 looks similar) look at the rear of the case, where the expansion slots are, you should spot the little silver screws just securing the pci devices to the case securely. SDC10795.JPG
When i say the top slot, place it exactly how my gpu is placed on the picture

Yeah I see what you mean. So the screw comes with the card or case? Sorry, I'm not knowledgeable in this department lol

should be with the case, infact the screw will already be in the case holding the little black vented cover in. just unscrew the screw, remove the cover thing, slot in the 570, screw in, then plug in.
