Quiet case advice

Hello everyone, been lurking here since the start of this Autumn following a few threads, got my order on 12th of October, a pc mainly for video editing, music production and gaming, so I kinda need bit of everything here. Using a 3440x1440 144hz monitor. I feel like i'm pretty happy with my choices, but been dwindling about the choice of case, the S600 seems to be 50/50 with airflow and i'm wondering if it's worth upgrading to a twice as expensive case (Fractal define 7 quiet case), since I want a quiet case that wouldn't sabotage my temps either. Another thing is the 3080 size, from what it seemed to me, it should fit S600, but there wouldn't much "breathing" room.
I deleted the irrelevant lines to save space. I will be using my current system home 1TB Samsung m.2 SSD so there's no windows and only 1 drive in the spec.
Also I know that AMD is better for workstations, but I'm not doing anything too demanding, so I feel that I wouldn't feel the difference. That, and the fact that I wasn't waiting around for the new AMD chips either.

You wouldn’t have to wait for AMD’s new processors, even their current ones will trounce Intel’s for your requirements.

Here’s an alternative spec... it’s cheaper too! Given the amount of time you’ll likely be waiting for a 3080, you’ll be able to swap in a 5900X CPU.

Hi, thank you for your input. Also answering to Scott - I mostly chose them by myself while looking at my current budget, was lurking here just to follow the whole 3080 situation and reading up on some parts here and there, sorry for misleading you with that

For this kind of build, would liquid cooler really be necessary? I'm not keen on them personally and I would rather spend less on that and go back to the 2TB m.2 as I need storage space, and with that my question is does the X570-F have 2x m.2 slots? On asus website it says AMD version has only 1? . Supposedly if I got onto livechat when they release, PCS could swap everything out while keeping my 3080 slot?

The Rog Strix has dual M.2 slots so you’re all good there.

An AIO cooler is pretty much a necessity on the 12 core chips in order to keep them performing optimally, I generally wouldn’t have air cooling on anything above 6 core. Why’s the reason you’re not keen on them? The Corsair ones are fantastic, I’ve had my H100i running pretty much constantly since purchase and it’s given me no bother at all.

You can always add more storage easily later on, in my opinion it’s more important to get the fundamentals of the build bang on first time.

I might do that since i'm not sure i'm ready to stretch my budget that much now.

If you wanted a cheaper AIO option the Coolermaster 240 Lite is a great choice. It only has standard fans but it's a high performing cooler which means that they can run quite slow when the system isn't under extreme use. It's often the budget AIO option recommended. The H100i RGB Platinum has ML fans, in that they magnetically levitate for a friction-less, and thus near silent, turn.

There are non-RGB options but they aren't as good. It's not actually anything to do with the lighting or anything like that, it's down to the CPU cooling plate and the fans that makes it a premium option.

The best way to transfer over is to come up with your build, take note of the link and call PCS. They will sometimes switch over the build with little fuss.

I’ve had 2 x water cooled systems since 2010 ish without any problems.

ignore if it’s RGB or not, there is an off setting, the performance is what matters.

There is a fair bit of customisation available via the application on how the fans and pump run, that’s on top of the extreme, balanced and quiet presets. You can also have the colours linked to temps as a pre warning if getting toasty, although saying that mine can cool wine.

a big cost saving would be dropping to 16GB, do you currently use any application the requires 32GB, obviously if you do keep 32GB.

Thanks for both your answers. I do think that I shouldn't really skimp on a new build like this, so I might just stretch the budget and go for the best cooler available, maybe just downing the m.2 to 1TB. Sometimes the RGB-less versions are the same, but cheaper, so had to ask I don't mind it doing some ambient lighting if there's no other way.
I think I have decided to go with the build Agentcooper got together, just with intel's m.2 and no wifi as I don't plan on using it. Will try to ask PCS on livechat on how to go about it since I don't really want to call if possible as I am not UK based and no idea how much that could cost me haha

Interesting, I didn't seem to find too many bad reviews. is the PCS drive a rebranded version of something else? From what the builder says it has much less write speed which concerns me. Maybe i'm overexaggerating and it wouldn't affect the video editing part too much

Their write endurance, previously, was half that of any competing brand. Not sure if they have changed that in the new lineup or not. It's just a brand I avoid for M2s.

If you consider that SATA SSDs are considered quick, any drive 3x that performance is going to do just fine

Drive speed is important for video editing, but you would get more benefit from a scratch drive than you ever would a faster primary drive. Creating a dedicated lane of traffic for your editing needs is faster than standing in a queue, regardless of how fast it's moving.

It's all budget related. The storage is the easiest thing to upgrade/change over the period of the system. It's also fast paced at the moment and prices are coming down fast.

I would personally want a 980 Pro in a modern system. They're just blistering. I wouldn't ever jeaopardise anything else in the build to get it though.

My systems are 500GB fast primary, 1 TB fast storage and xxTB of conventional storage.

For video editing I would want 500GB fast primary, 250GB fast cache and the rest made up by budget/preference.

I have a 1TB 970 EVO as my current system drive, and yeah, that is all well and known, just that I don't want to spend on an m.2 that I would swap out later, so I'm left to consider my options if I go with a smaller m.2 and add non-m.2 storage later if needed or go the other way around and leave the m.2 slot free. I'll get around it myself, thank you for all the comments!

I had a look at the endurance of the drives btw. The Intel ones are still significantly behind the top players. They have however, finally, caught up with the budget offerings so they are in line with the lower level drives for endurance. I still wouldn't pay Intel prices for non-brand quality.

I edit video and have one of the 1TB PCS m2 drives as my primary and a 112 GB SSD for my background render files, then storage is a combination of internal and external HDD's and that works a treat
