Hi, So i've had a clevo p370em with two radeon 7970m's in crossfire for a couple of weeks now. At some point in the week i decided to update the drivers ( I think i regret that now) I don't really have any error problems with the cards now but they are REALLY REALLY underperforming and i think its because i've put either the wrong drivers for the card or have done something weird.
First of all the way you find amd drivers is confusing to me. I have found 3 types of different drivers and thats not even to mention the different updated versions of them! ): For an example its now the 26th and 2 days ago the new 13.5 catalyst beta and software suite came out. Two different driver downloads but they only contain the device manager and audio drivers and not any display drivers. Then there is the AMD catalyst beta drivers that seem to contain an all in one driver package? Finally there is a mobility verification tool that also downloads a driver so i have a tone of all these different drivers saved on my laptop but have been confused when i install the latest drivers they seem to make my games frames rate terrible.
The way i uninstall my drivers is followed by this thread - http://www.overclock.net/t/988215/h...l-ati-amd-software-drivers-for-graphics-cards
I follow that because i read somewhere that you can come to some problems if you don't uninstall properly.
An example of what im annoyed at is for instance take skyrim. I have that on steam and have seen online that a radeon 7970m can handle the game on 60fps at certain points for example the beginning of the game (I've seen gameplay with a counter and it's steady and doesn't drop below 50) That is ONE single 7970 card. Now mine in crossfire, it runs at 30fps and then dips to below 20 when i try to see what its like to record with fraps.
Can anyone tell me what i've done wrong? Like i can defiantly say that the stock drivers pc specialist installed are doing better than the newer ones i've installed. Or maybe i've mixed up the driver software packages and its not running as it should?
And to anybody else who has these cards and reads this if you can PLEASE! PLEASE! tell me which drivers you use so i can fix this issue. ): I know there is issues with the drivers of the cards but i just want to get this sorted before i get even more confused.
Thank you, Ibby
