RAM Compatability

Evening Everyone,


Just a quick question to run by you more savvy pc guys.

I am looking to upgrade my RAM, I currently have a ASUS M5A78L motherboard. I am looking to upgrade from 4gb of PCS ram that came with the build to Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 8GB 1600MHz CL9 DDR3 Vengeance.

My question to you all is quite simply, will this RAM work well with this motherboard and there will be no problems etc...

Apologies if there is an obvious way to find this out but Im not very tech savvy

should be fine mate, just make sure that you cpu cooler doesnt block the ram slots!

Also, check in your mobo manual that it will run at 1600mhz.

It will work fine.

Your board naturally runs at 1333/1066MHz so to make the most out of the RAM you may have to tweek BIOS settings to get the 1600MHz the RAM is capable of (which your board supports).

Thats how I understand it anyway...

EDIT: tom makes a good point about it fitting, its chunky RAM, make sure you have room
