RAM Speed showing much slower than it should!!

Hi can anyone give me some advice as I think my RAM is running much slower than it should! I have the 8GB KINGSTON HYPER-X GENESIS 1600MHz SODIMM DDR3 (2 x 4GB). But when I run any benchmark it tells me that my RAM speed is only running at 800Mhz. I have the Vortex 3 17.3 inch laptop with the 7970m GPU. Any info on why this is running so slow or why it is showing as being slow and what I can do about it will be very much appreciated!! Thanks

My understanding that testisng is done at 1333mhz and it will be left at that when you get it. You could go into bios to set it at 1600mhz or contact PCS for instructions on how to do it.

Its also worth noting DDR ram is Double Data Rate ram - which means if its showing as 800mhz its probably already running at 1600 mhz

Try CPU-Z to see what it is clocking your ram at, if its 800Mhz, then everything is fine

I'm pretty convinced it shows like that as well.

+ two,Steaky is bang on,It's normal for information programs like that to show half the ram speed if it's DDR (double data ram)
