RAT6/7 Mouse

So, I'm gonna buy a new mouse soon, I thought I was gonna get the Razer Death Adder, but after going into Curry/PCWorld to have a feel at the mice, it annoyed me, was a nice fit, but on the right side, my finger is too long and is resting on some annoying bend that points outwards, making it uncomfortable to hold, so I've now opted for either the Steel Series the World of Warcraft mouse, my only concern regarding that is that it's quite bit, and loads of buttons, the buttons would be ace for like WoW, but, I'll be going for Guild Wars 2 in 2012, which won't have as many keybinds as wow does, and they're useless for Shooters, so I'm not sure about that.

So last option which I never concidered was the Rat mice, I noticed after getting home from the shop, that the Rat6/7 can be altered in size, can you make it wider, and longer? Because its only downfall to me was its small size, and I read after checking about making it longer, that it gets unsteady, when you rest your hand on it, the back gets pushed down so the front lifts?

Anyone with a Rat6 or 7 that can enlighten me about its function and what negative/possitive effects it has?

pinky rest is awesome on the RAT 9, not sure if the 7 has it. Apart from that I tried oen once and really didnt get on with it, felt horrible to me, but then I have a razer mamba, which is basically god in mouse form.

Razer Mamba has that same stupid bend at the front of the right side, making my finger rest on it, I hold my mouse with my palm, not my fingers. Mamba seems to be great for people who use claw and finger grip, not palm.

I use my palm, if i used claw finger grip as you call it my hand would be knackered after using computer for 12+ hours everyday

I must just have longer fingers then you then xD
I've heard great things about the Mamba, but my hand just wont allow it, I've got quite a big hand, yet the RAT mice feel really nice in my hand, just a tad bit too small, hence why I'd like to hear from someone with a RAT 7, think they only had RAT 3 and 5 at PCworld, so couldn't alter the the size of it whilst trying them out in the shop.

That's not what I call it :p It's simply what it's called xD

You've got Claw, Finger, and Palm, finger and palm are similar, you just hold the mouse further out from your palm, instead of resting your full palm on it.

As for Claw, claw is just strange to me xD, google it, like you said, hand would get knackered, but meh, it gives some players better precision in shooter games.

Funnily enough I recently ordered the RAT 7 as a replacement for my failing temporary 'spare' mouse, it arrived today. It is basically the exact same as the RAT 9 but without the wireless functionality. It has interchangable palm and pinky rests, the length can be adjusted, the thumbrest can also be adjusted (in a sense adjusting the width), aswell as the DPI using the program (change the 4 'settings' to custom ones. When pressing the 'aim' button you can also set a percentage of how much it effects the DPI). You can also change the weight.

I have a Rat9 as i don't like wired mice and with having pretty big hands it helps with all the adjustment it has and depending how you hold the mouse it can tip back (just tried) if you are only resting your palm on it when it's stretched out to full length but this does not affect me as my wrist is normally resting on the desk and as someone said above the pinkie rest is really good i think you get that on the Rat7 aswell but you be best checking.

How much can the palm be length be adjusted? Went back to the shop yesterday, found the thing which you adjust it with, but couldn't figure out how to do it, might just be that they've locked it on the display one. There's two small knobs to the left of the weight adjuster, think top one was supposed to alter the length? Couldn't do it, any chance anyone could throw up a picture of the mouse with the palm extended?

Nevermind!

Found it in a review. God I'm thick.

Think I'm gonna go with this mouse.

According to the above picture, there is a pinky rest on the RAT 7, does it come in the box or something? Wasn't on the display mouse at curry/pcworld.

Hmm, that said, just read a review of the CM Storm Inferno, seems quite nice, and a 3rd of the price of the RAT 7.

Johake - As I said in my prior post, it comes with 3 pinkie rests, and 3 palm rests total. The one you see to the right is in the 'accessories' tins that comes in the box.

Remember, you pay for quality - you get quality. The RAT 7 is like no other mouse I've ever personally used (even gaming mice). It actually has decent build quality. D=

Mamba has easily best build quality.
