Hello there,

I am new to this page and I configured a PC I would like to buy. The prices are really solid so I figured I would go for it.

I expect from you guys to look through my configuration and tell me if there is something I missed. And if I did not go too far with any of my parts.

Also I would like to know if there is any promo codes I could apply or if there will be a black friday deal?

No promo codes that I know of; custom builds never have Black Friday deals. (Sometimes PCS has a pre-configured one that you can't change, but they're generally not the best bet.)

What's this system for? What monitor will you be using?

Can you include the green configuration link as well?

Thanks for replying.

System will mostly be used for casual gaming, I have a 1080p monitor but planning to upgrade to 2k sometimes in the future. I do not think I'll be playing on 4k. Maybe though I don't know.

To me it all seems a little too much, but you know I don't want to be worried about low fps on ultra settings.

I'd change your approach considerably. Aiming at 1080p with this kind of budget isn't a great call, and a 3080 would be totally wasted on it. So I'd order a 1440p 144Hz IPS display now and reduce the PC budget accordingly. No idea what's available or what prices are in Croatia!

Then I'd go for a much less ambitious system, probably with a 3070 rather than a 3080, and maybe even a 12600 rather than a 12700K. It might even be worth downgrading to the DDR4 platform.

This system, for example, would be awesome for 1440p and cost nearly 4000kn less than your original. You could still go for the 12700K (though the gains would be minimal) and indeed you could get a 3080 in your budget (though many would consider that overkill for 1440p). Either way, it would be a much better use of the budget IMO.

Damn, I overkilled it a bunch. As there is a new generation coming I thought I'd go for the max I could get out of this generation, although that wasn't even the max. Lately I have been putting off my research of the components and benchmarks on the same, so I didn't know what's best for the gaming I'll be doing.

I just wanted to be sure that the configuration could be running all on high at least so I would not feel like a peasant gaming on ultra low at 40 fps as I am now.

Thanks to you though I now get to save a lot of money.

Although I would like to stay on DDR5 memory if it is at least a little better? And do I get 32gb or 16gb then? Just for gaming, discord, songs and maybe like 4 tabs on chrome.

EDIT: I have made some changes myself: https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/saved-configurations/intel-z690-pc/S7D!wJ3v6s/
Not sure if that's any good.

I think you changed the speed of the RAM, the storage, and the cooler?

The speed of the RAM is neither here nor there: 3200 vs 3600 is a minimal difference.

With the cooler, you definitely want one of the H1__i models (H115i ideally). They're significantly better and quieter. And if you get the Capellix ones, you also get RGB fans to match the case fans.

For the storage, do you have any more drives to add? Because (a) 500GB isn't that much, and (b) the ideal is to have two drives, one for the OS and another for games.

With memory, the difference with DDR5 is not that great, and it seems unlikely to me that current-gen chips will be able to get significantly more performance, even if the available RAM speeds improve. 16GB should be enough for what you're talking about. 32GB wouldn't be stupid, but it's more than you really need unless you play a few RAM-heavy games like Flight Simulator or Cities: Skylines.

I do have two more SSD drives with more than enough storage that I want to add to the pc.

Okay, great. I didn't want to go crazy with RGB so I changed the cooler to a cheaper one. Thought it's just RGB that's the difference.

With RAM I'm not very familiar, thought I'd go for something new and also thought more the better. I could always add another 16 gigs of RAM later on as needed if I'm not mistaken.

I'll stick to the configuration you made for me, I'll just change the storage.

Thanks a lot, you have been really helpful and it is great to have someone who is familiar with this stuff to help.

Awesome. If you aren't worried about the RGB, get the H100i or H115i non-Capellix options: they'll be a bit cheaper too.
