Ready-built PC - HDMI/DVI not recognised

Hi,

Today I just recieved my pre-made PC from PCSpecialist. The monitor I ordered is a ASUS VE228HR 21.5" LED DISPLAY, HDMI , D-Sub, DVI-D.

I have tried connecting the monitor to the PC using both HDMI and DVI cables, and both are displaying on the monitor that an input is not recognised. Is there something I may be missing/haven't done?

Is there a third cable (other than the HDMI or DVI + power cable) that I should be connecting?

Make sure your connecting the monitor to the graphics card and not the onboard graphics.

Also, there should be a button on the monitor that cycles through the inputs. It should automatically pick up the correct channel, but worth checking.

its only been a few hours, might be the Op has gone off down the pub. it is Friday after all
