Really would like some feedback on the below, budget was about £2k

Are you going to be overclocking? For that budget you should be able to squeeze a 980ti if you adjust some other components without affecting performance.

I am considering overclocking however I am still a novice in that respect. Was hoping to have a build where I can keep it standard and then overclock as and when I get more confident? What do you think?

I think the build looks good, there are a few things I would change but it's nothing major.

1. Motherboard: You have chosen a Motherboard with SLi capabilities, however you have not chosen an adequately powerful PSU to allow a second 980. If you don't intend to add a second graphics card you could drop the motherboard down to a non-SLi capable board and save some money. If you do plan to add a second card in future you will probably require a 1000W PSU.

2. Graphics Card: SpyderTracks mentioned the 980Ti as the next possible step in improving the build however I feel this would be a waste of cash considering you only selected a 1080p monitor, the 980 will be more than sufficient to power the 1080p monitor, it would handle 1440p without any issues. The 980Ti would be overkill at this resolution.

3. Drives: With an SSD as your main OS drive there is very little reason to get an SSHD as your secondary drive, you may as well get the Caviar Black as your secondary as the main things that would be cached in the SSHD are already on an SSD. You would not be able to notice any performance difference.

4. Wireless: I would definitely recommend using homeplugs instead of the Wireless, generally they offer a faster, more reliable connection than wireless as they connect your PC to the Router through the mains power cabling.

I personally disagree with this, I think as games become more demanding a 980Ti may become useful. It would also keep your options more open in the future to a 1440p or 4k monitor.
