Just bought a Recoil 16 with i9 and RTX4080 and 64GB RAM but I cannot get the control center to work it opens but just has the loading dots at the top and is frozen on ... .... .... dots over and over again.

A restart does nothing and the same issue restarts...

Have you applied all windows updates including all the optional ones

Yes of course all W11 Pro updates completed.

The app is just stuck and never completely opens, and I cannot access anything on it. I even tried to repair and reset it and still the problem remains.

Can I download it from anywhere?????

Usually, the CC is unrelated to the Windows update; however, try uninstalling it completely, reboot, and reinstalling; it should be located in your main PCS account's download section.

I don't have a download account section.

The laptop was purchased as a Grade A from CEX Store.

How can I download the software as clearly mine is corrupt.

If it’s second hand CEX should have transferred warranty as part of the sale which gives you access to an online account. Without that the system is never going to work.

CEX know this, so if they’re not willing to transfer warranty I would return it

huh?

But the laptop is working great, I just cannot get the control center to work?

So are you saying I cannot get the control center to work or download it unless I have acess to the warranty account????

That sounds stupid.

Yes exactly, without transferred warranty, you have no account for drivers, so it’s never going to work.

Custom laptops are not the same as off the shelf laptops, you need an account to be able to configure them. I’m betting it didn’t come with the watercooler as well? If so again it’s going to constantly overheat as requires that for normal operation.

im afraid you’ve been duped, I would cancel the sale

No water cooler no but I purchased one on eBay last night and delivery is due Monday.

What drivers am I missing as other than the control center everything is working...

Any of them including essential BIOS updates

Ots not working as it should be because without control center you have no access to the PL limits so performance will be hugely throttled which you can confirm from any benchmark.

Essentially you’ve got high end components that at best will perform at mid range levels. And when the cpu degrades and its BSODing constantly which is a given, you’ll have no access to warranty replacements.

I would strongly recommend cancelling

We can’t offer any further advice as these forums are only for PCS customers

I have contacted CEX with the info regarding the account warranty but no doubt they will take days to respond as it is weekend.

Seems harsh that I have just spent near on £2000 and you won't help me...

Why would you lock someone out of bios updates and driver updates? that is just stupid.

None of us work for PCS; once you have your official PCS account, we will be happy to assist. That is the forum rule. 🤷‍♂️

PCS only provides support to their customers, which I think is normal.

Buying from a third party is possible, but the product must be formally registered through PCS (you just need a proof of purchase).

I can assure you locking bios and driver updates is not normal.

And I do have a proof of purchase with 24 month warranty from CEX.
