Refund Times

Hey, I have refunded my order since it was basically impossible to build on the pcspecialists end and I could not even find out it was impossible until I would have to wait in a queue for my rtx 3080 and decided to go with another company with faster delivery times. I am still concerned that the pcspecialist won't refund me as fast as possible and leave me waiting (I am making this assumption because my experience with the customer service was horrendous so far). If anyone has any experience with cancelling their orders could they share?
Thanks.

Have you read through the Right To Cancel?

Opening times are.

It seems pretty straightforward.

However as with most organisations at Christmas they will be exceptionally busy.

Also, there is a global shortage on gfx cards.

Its a bit like swapping from one supermarket queue to another supermarket queue at start of lockdown.

It is not the equivalent of swapping, I can't name where I am ordering from as the last time I did do that my comment was removed but they have stock.

Regarding my cancellation, intially it had nothing to do with the waiting times, I have cancelled because the company can't keep their promises regarding itx cases and they haven't checked if the parts are compatible with each other or not but afterwards also realized there are better options (companies with better customer service) all I can recommend is calling a company before ordering a pc next time and checking if you have to wait in a 5 hours queue. That says a lot about their policy regarding how they want to service their customers. Sadly pcspecialist didn't do a good job neither did they do a good job with their technical knowledge. You can see my previous thread regarding that here: https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/forums/threads/advice-needed-for-3080-itx-case.76174/#post-543281

It is a little messy because I have made 2 threads regarding seperate issues but the moderator decided that they need to be merged. One thread was about if I should cancel my order or if pc specialist could even deliver it or not and the other one was about which parts I should replace to make it fit together (which it was impossible to fit together)

You'll have to pop back in and let us know when you get your new machine / card and how it is.
I don't think you are allowed to talk about other companies on this forum as my post was initially removed but from trustpilot I have seen them delivering a system with rtx 3080 within the week to people who ordered it and they are a reputable company.

I didnt mean to name company - just to let us know that you got your machine within the time you think they are going to and if its up to standard of what you are hoping to get.

Okay, I will update here. I have heard really good things about pcspecialists before but I think they are unmanaged during the lockdown (from what I observed)

Good luck but we have a number of people with orders in since late Oct, early November with a couple UK builders and still waiting.

Once organisation is on its 3rd 3080 thread and put in bans on the 2nd thread lol.

Honestly, I just hope I won't have to wait a lot for the refund process.

I hope the other organizations aren't lying about the waiting times then lol, but like I said I am not really cancelling because of the waiting times, I want to cancel because of the lack of customer care/technical knowledge from pcspecialists part.

You’ll find every single system integrator is in the same boat at the moment.

I feel like you are a little bit biased around this considering you have said that it is impossible for the systems configurator to make a mistake at the first place and now this. I don't think fixing this issue would take more than a week for a company who has a dedicated employee for these issues. I haven't seen any mistakes so far for my planned order for the other company I am planning to go with but I can't tell if there are impossible builds to order from their end as I haven't googled everything, the problem I have is not just that I can order a misconfigured computer but I also can't configure it even after contacting the customer service because they don't know if the parts will fit in together as well so I need to crawl through some obscure forums to find out about it or wait until the build, If I had the hardware in hand I wouldn't make this mistake or I could tell if 2 of them would fit considering I should have been done many builds after a customer contacts me and not give them wrong advice. I am not even mentioning the 2 to 4 hours waiting times for each call. You saying that every system integrator is at the same boat at the moment is like you saying that no one knows how to build computers in this land, well then how do these computers that function come to our homes? Apparently some people aren't on that boat because they try to provide a higher quality customer service.

Lols... you're completely missing the point.

Everyone is in the same boat at the moment. It's nothing to do with knowing how to build computers, it's that all the customer services staff have to work from home, so aren't able to communicate very easily with the staff building the PC's. That and social distancing factors, plus the obvious stock issues has caused every business the same issues with communications and lead times.

I wish you the best, but if you read the forums of the place you're buying from, you'll find very similar feedback.

I will update you regarding my experience with the other company after my purchase if that is okay then (will post specs, delivery time, customer service waiting times for calls etc.) I called them once so far for hardware advice and they picked up the same moment/seemed knowledgeable. Saying everyone is on the same boat is kind of unfair for companies that provide better customer service or faster delivery times (according to what I have seen from the reviews).

No, this forum is just for PCSpecialist customers, it's not ok to post builds from other companies.

Sorry but the facts from every single Computer forum, You tube channel etc is that there is a global shortage, multitude of reasons.

Some PC places have managed to source at higher prices, however as one review said, this meant down grading things like PSU and Mboard etc to non main makes including one that had sourced Chinese PSU’s to save on build price, however even that was high.

The best way to order with any online builder at the moment, is to build a good base spec, then source your own card.

The 12 February is Chinese New Year, manufacturing in Asia shuts down after this for circa 2-4 weeks.

hopefully no one is ahead of you in this new providers queue and you get service which includes a good build at a good price.

Any company that says they are not struggling to get RTX 3080 etc is pretty much lying.

Took less then 48 hours from my experience to have a refund tho in total honesty im waiting till jan feb maybe march to place a order with pc specialist and I have looked at three other uk based builders ( wont name them )more for comparison on wait times and do they have certain parts that pcs dosent etc after looking into there forums one major company lacked a forum ill be staying the course and placing a order with pcs I would encourage you to do the same but understand that your minds made up

Thinking about it, that video could also be used for when people come on this forum looking for "check my spec".... "but why not buy and AMD, it's better..."
