Replacing my dinosaur!

I'm writing this on a 17" mid-2010 i7 MacBook Pro, its time to replace it, before it becomes extinct. Here's a build I am considering - 17" again, all SSD, as I'm old and paranoid, single 16Gm Ram so
i can expand if I want more. Will be used for mild gaming, DJ'ing, music production, and maybe running Virtual Machines.

I'd probably go with the £5 warranty upgrade. Possibly more with a laptop that expensive.

The Octane can take upto 4 sticks of RAM. So you could go for 2x8gb so that you have the RAM as dual channel, without precluding another 16gb in the future.

Depending on your budget you could consider a GTX 1070, since you can't count on being able to upgrade a laptop GPU and it's a good deal more powerful.

Thanks for the advice! I didn't realize I could install 4 sticks of RAM, so yes, 2x8 would be much wiser to start.
